ECPC re-brand wins Gold Lamplighter as best in New England

MANCHESTER — Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants is the proud recipient of the 2020 Gold Lamplighter Award from NESHCo, the New England Society for Healthcare Communicators.

Each year, NESHCo recognizes the best work by hospitals, healthcare systems and providers across the region in the area of marketing, public relations, branding and patient communications.

ECPC’s new brand design was judged among 286 submissions across all categories. The unique logo earned top recognition because its abstract design broke the boundaries of typical healthcare logo work and because the animated component — seen on our website homepage — elevates the entire brand concept.

ECPC partnered with Reardon+Stewart, a boutique brand strategy firm on Boston’s North Shore that specializes in healthcare and higher education for the logo redesign and website launch.

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Lamplighter Award Gala was not held. However, ECPC was recognized by NESHCo across its social channels and featured in the 2020 Winner Book.

ECPC launches new practice website

MANCHESTER — Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants (ECPC), a private pathology practice serving southern New England, has launched a new website to showcase its experienced pathology team and advanced subspecialty expertise. The site features dedicated sections to our core service areas: Hospital Pathology, Physician Office Lab Management and Advanced Diagnostic Testing.

Provider Resources

Designed with our partner physicians and clients in mind, the website goes beyond offering a comprehensive overview of our services. Our Provider Resources section features easy-to-find call information for our 24/7 on-call pathologist and instant access to a wide array of laboratory requisition forms, available for download.

The mobile-friendly site also features a searchable library of more than 100 medical publications by our team and in-depth case studies explaining the benefits of working with ECPC to establish an on-site physician-owned laboratory. View and download our case study booklet.

Patient Resources

A robust, easy-to-digest consumer guide available on the website helps patients understand the role of their pathologist, our processes and what to expect when awaiting biopsy results. This guide, medically reviewed by multiple members of our team for accuracy and clarity, is a comprehensive resource with two sections:

  • How to Read a Pathology Report: We break down each section of the typical pathology report with patient-friendly explainers and context.
  • From Biopsy to Pathology Lab: We help patients understand what happens after a specimen is collected. Our timeline explains the journey as the specimen is processed and examined in our pathology laboratory.

We encourage providers to download, print and distribute this guide to their patients awaiting or receiving pathology results. View and download the patient guide.
