Two new pathologists join ECPC team

MANCHESTER — ECPC has welcomed two new board-certified and fellowship-trained pathologists to our team. Ayesha Siddique, MD, and Cindy B. Wepy, MD, enhance our practice’s expertise across all subspecialties.

Dr. Siddique previously served as Chief Resident in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Hartford Hospital. She has published in several high impact journals in the field of gastrointestinal and liver pathology and received multiple awards from both CAP and USCAP in this regard.

Dr. Wepy previously served as Chief Resident in Anatomic Pathology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. She brings subspecialty experience in women’s and perinatal pathology.

ECPC provides unparalleled service to our health care partners across southern New England, including community hospitals, endoscopy centers and physician office laboratories. With an experienced team of 17 board-certified pathologists, we bring over 150 years of combined subspecialty training and clinical experience to the diagnostic pathology environment.


Ayesha Siddique, MD, FCAP

Dr. Ayesha Siddique completed her residency at Hartford Hospital and her fellowship training in Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pathology at Brown University. She received her medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. Read her full bio.

ECPC Sponsors Holes for Hope Golf Outing

MANCHESTER

Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants, was pleased to continue our sponsorship of the annual ECHN Holes for Hope golf outing hosted by the Rotary Club of Manchester, Inc. This year’s event, held on June 29th at Manchester Country Club, featured support for Manchester Knights Youth Football and Lutz Children’s Museum among other charities.

It was a beautiful day and our ECPC foursome enjoyed the event!!

ECPC Announces Recipients of 2022 Scholarship Award

MANCHESTER

At Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants, we view ourselves as being closely connected to the communities in which we practice.  As part of our continued interest in and commitment to these communities, we established a high school scholarship program aimed at recognizing excellence in students planning to pursue careers in a variety of healthcare fields, including medicine, nursing, healthcare administration, clinical laboratory sciences, healthcare informatics and veterinary sciences.

This year, ECPC extended our scholarship opportunity to Manchester, Rockville and Waterbury High Schools. We were very impressed with all of the applicants, their personal stories and academic achievements. Determining the recipients of the ECPC Scholarships was quite a difficult decision.

That being said, we are proud to announce eight recipients of ECPC’s 2022 High School Scholarship Awards, with each student receiving a check for $2500.  The awardees are listed below in alphabetical order:

ECPC welcomes two new team members

MANCHESTER — ECPC has expanded its robust of team of pathology professionals with the addition of another pathologists’ assistant and a surgical pathology technician. New hires James Boley, MHS, PA and Kalli Richmond enhance our practice’s capabilities across all of our hospital-based and POL service areas.

ECPC provides unparalleled service to our health care partners across southern New England, including community hospitals, endoscopy centers and physician office laboratories. With an experienced team of 16 board-certified pathologists, three pathologists’ assistants and three surgical pathology techs, we bring over 150 years of combined subspecialty training and clinical experience to the diagnostic pathology environment.


James W. Boley, MHS, PA (ASCP)

James Boley joins us with diverse lab experience at hospitals and provider groups along the East Coast and upper Midwest. He graduated from Quinnipac University with a Master of Science degree. Read his full bio.

ECPC opens search to hire AP/CP pathologist with subspecialty experience in hematopathology 

MANCHESTER — Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants is looking to hire a new pathologist with AP/CP board certification and subspecialty experience in hematopathology.

ECPC is a rapidly growing pathology group of highly-motivated pathologists with diverse subspecialty interests, covering several community hospitals with active cancer programs, ambulatory surgery centers and medical school affiliations in Connecticut and Southern Massachusetts.

Successful candidate will join a vibrant group of pathologists with broad expertise and should possess the ability to maintain a high level of productivity and service while working collaboratively with clinical colleagues and staff.

Patricia A. Krebs, M.D.

Patricia A. Krebs, M.D. joins us after serving as the Associative Director of Cytopathology and as the Associative Director of Transfusion Medicine at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. Dr. Krebs completed her residency and fellowship training in Cytopathology at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., where she also served as Chief Resident. Read her full bio.


Christina Luffman, M.D.

Christina Luffman, M.D. completed her residency and fellowship training in Breast Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where she also served as Chief Resident. She completed an additional fellowship in Dermatopathology at the University of Massachusetts. Read her full bio.

ECPC pathologist on PMH expert panel discussion and Q&A for Covid-19 Pandemic Update

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, ECPC pathologist, Dr. Elizabeth Rinehart, will be part of a panel of PMH experts for an interactive discussion and Q&A: COVID-19 PANDEMIC UPDATE

This Continuing Medical Education presentation is accredited for physician and nursing CEs. The format will mostly consist of interactive Q&A for the panel based on questions from participants. The question submission window will close on Tuesday, 9/28; however, Q&A will also be available during the live event.

ECPC partners with ECHN to restore Manchester Memorial Hospital’s historic marble sign

MANCHESTER — Over the summer, Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants partnered with ECHN to support the restoration of Manchester Memorial Hospital’s front lawn sign. The historic marble engraved sign was originally on the facility above the front door. As part of the improvement, the sign received a deep cleaning and repair & repainting of the concrete base. New plantings highlight this beautiful restoration.

ECPC is proud to be part of the Manchester Hospital community and is committed to contributing to ECHN’s ongoing success!

ECPC pathologist on expert panel for ECHN cancer program CME presentation

On Tuesday, April 6, ECPC pathologist, Dr. Monica Srodon, will be part of a panel of experts collaborating with ECHN’s Cancer Program for a Continuing Medical Education presentation: HPV – Updated Guidelines on Screening and Vaccination

This Continuing Medical Education presentation will cover the following learning objectives:

  • Understand the role of HPV in cervical, orophargyneal and anal cancer and pre-malignant conditions
  • Review current cervical cancer screening guidelines
  • Assess current understanding of anal dysplasia in various populations options for screening and management
  • Outline HPV vaccination schedule, options and updated guidelines

Rebecca DiIorio named Executive Director for ECPC

MANCHESTER — Congratulations to Rebecca DiIorio for being promoted to Executive Director at ECPC – she has been a driving force behind our success!! Rebecca previously served as the lead pathologists’ assistant. In her new role, she will be accountable for all aspects of day-to-day operations and assisting our practice partners in advancing ECPC’s strategic plan for its future.
